Regional car insurance cost indexes
Every index below follows the same methodology as the national UK Car Insurance Cost Index: paid-premium and quoted-premium sources blended to a typical comprehensive policy, refreshed as new quarterly data lands. Each regional report carries its own average premium, young-driver and postcode detail, and a cite-able dataset. As at Q2 2026 the national benchmarks are an ABI average paid premium of £566 and a Confused.com average quote of £719.
