Car Insurance Expert is an independent UK editorial site publishing data-led guides on car insurance pricing, regulation and choice. Founded in 2026, we cover 240+ vehicle models, every DVLA conviction code, all 50 insurance groups and the full driver demographic spectrum.
What we do
We publish original research and structured guidance that helps UK drivers understand what they should be paying for car insurance — and where to find it. We are an independent editorial research site: everything we publish is information only, never financial advice or a personal recommendation. We do not sell insurance, we do not arrange or compare policies, and we are not an FCA-authorised insurance intermediary. We currently have no commercial relationships with insurers, brokers or comparison sites and earn no commission from any of them — every link on this site takes you to our own research or to official sources. If disclosed partnerships are introduced in future, our How we get paid page will be updated before they start.
What we don't do
- We don't give financial advice. We provide information so you can make your own decisions.
- We don't accept payment for editorial placement. Broker and insurer rankings are based on market presence, transparency and consumer reviews — not on commercial arrangements, of which we currently have none.
- We don't collect your personal data unless you actively submit it (e.g. via a contact form). See our Privacy Policy.
Editorial independence
Our editorial team operates independently — we have no insurer or comparison-site relationships to answer to. Methodology pages document how our data is gathered; sources are cited on every guide page. Our Editorial Standards page sets out the rules our writers follow.
